The HSC and equivalent exams will begin today across the country under 11 education boards with Bangla 1st paper examination staring at 10 am.
This year, a total of 12,51,111 examinees will appear in the public examination.
Among the candidates from 11 education boards, 618,015 are male and 633,096 are female. There are 10,55,398 candidates under the General Education Board.
Besides, 86,102 will take part in the examination under the Madrasa Education Board (Alim), and 109,611 under the Technical Education Board.
This year, the total number of examination centers across the country is 2,797.
A total of 293 candidates will take part in the examination at 8 centers outside the country. The number of total education institutions is 9,314.
The Ministry of Education has informed that all types of coaching centers will remain closed across the country until August 15.
Legal action will be taken against anyone who disobeys the instructions and keeps coaching centres open.
The use of any type of electronic device, including mobile phones, by teachers, students, and employees within 200 yards of the examination centers has been completely prohibited.
Education Adviser Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar yesterday said that the interim government remains alert to prevent the HSC question paper leaks as measures have already been taken to conduct the exams in a fair manner.
“To prevent the incidence of reoccurrence of question paper leaks, the interim government has remained alert. We don’t want to see such incidents of question paper leak this time anymore and we have strictly directed local administrations in this regard,” he said.
Properly steps have already been taken to ensure security of all examination halls, he said.
“Immediate legal actions will be taken on receiving information or allegation regarding question paper leaks or adopting unfair means in the exams. Besides, teachers, the local administration will also monitor the process,” the adviser added.
“Using any electronic device without the approval of the administration will be prohibited within the 200 yards of the exam centers and immediate actions will be taken against the regulation violators,” he added.
