River ports asked to hoist signal no-1

River ports have been asked to hoist cautionary signal number-1 as rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur in different parts of the country.
The warning for inland river ports will remain valid till 6:00 pm yesterday, according to a bulletin is-sued by Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) yesterday.
“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary west/north-westerly gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox’sbazar and Sylhet wherein river ports shall hoist cautionary signal number one,” the Met office bul-letin said.
