BB website shut down over cybersecurity concerns

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has temporarily shut down its website as a precautionary measure to protect it against a potential cyberattack.

The central bank disclosed the information in a message issued yesterday.

However, it did not provide details about the nature of the security threat or indicate when the website might be restored.

Talking to BSS, Bangladesh Bank spokesperson and Executive Director Arif Hossain Khan said the website had been taken offline to protect it against a possible cyberattack due to security risks.

“I have no further information on the matter. The website will be restored after the necessary security measures are taken,” he said.
