Bar Council MCQ exam held

Staff Reporter:
The multiple-choice questions (MCQ) examination for the enrolment of lawyers with the Bangladesh Bar Council was held on Friday.

The one-hour exam took place at 27 centres across the capital from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A total of 40,627 candidates were expected to appear.

Meanwhile, on Thursday night, the Detective Branch (DB-South) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested one Mizanur Rahman from Mohakhali on charges of circulating fake question papers for the exam.

A case has been filed with Shahbagh Police Station in this connection, the Bar Council said in an urgent press release.

The previous lawyer enrolment exam was held in November 2023.

To become a lawyer, a law graduate must pass a three-phase examination—MCQ, written and viva—conducted by the Bangladesh Bar Council. Upon passing all phases, the candidate can begin legal practice as a member of a district bar association.
