A petrol team of Bangladesh Army has arrested 16 members of a teen gang named “Danger Gang” from Keraniganj, on the outskirts of the capital, on Wednesday.
According to a post on the Bangladesh Army’s verified Facebook page on Thursday, the teen boys were amusing themselves with loud music on a boat in the Dhaleshwari River near the Tulshikhali bridge on Wednesday, while wielding local weapons.
Acting on information, a patrol team from the armed forces took control of the boat and seized eight machetes, seven Chinese axes, and several knives, hockey sticks, and iron pipes during a search of the boat.
Fourteen members of the gang were arrested at the scene, and two additional leaders were arrested later based on information extracted from the former.
All the arrestees were handed over to the Keraniganj Police Station, the Facebook post added.
