Staff Reporter:
A group of SSC exam candidates have called for boycotting exams, set to start in a week, demanding a delayed start.
On Thursday, from 11am to 5pm, the students would stage protests in the roads stretching from the Central Shaheed Minar at Dhaka University to the Dhaka Education Board building. Students outside Dhaka will protest at their respective education board office buildings, they have announced.
If authorities do not meet their two demands, they would boycott exams, starting on 10 April, they have warned.
The two demands are:
1) Deferring exams by a month as the fasting in Ramadan and Eid festivities hampered study preparations during March and the first week of April.
2) Allowing 3-4 day breaks after every exam to relieve stress for students amid the summer heat.
