BNP Joint Secretary General Imran Saleh Prince has blamed the defeated fascist and hegemonic forces for hatching a deep-rooted conspiracy against Bangladesh to make it an unstable and dysfunctional country.
“The Awami League leaders fled in the face of student-led mass upsurge are engaged in making misleading, untrue and provocative statements in foreign media deliberately to create an unstable situation in the country,” he said.
While addressing an iftar party held at Haluaghta upazila of Mymensingh on Thursday, he said that the chapter of Sheikh Hasina and her party, the Awami League, has come to a close in the country following the mass upsurge on 5 August.
He called upon the incumbent administration to bring fugitive Sheikh Hasina and her party men back home to produce them before the court for their indulgence in genocide, abuse of power and corruption.
The fugitive Awami League leaders want to catch fish in troubled water, pursuing their main agenda of delaying the national election, said the BNP leader.
“Awami League is a genocidal fascist force and it appears as a public enemy before the nation. It has no space in Bangladeshi politics,” he said.
Calling upon the leaders and activists of his party to remain vigilant amid the evolving political situation, he said any evil plan to destroy the achievement of the 5 August mass upsurge must be foiled collectively.
He also asked his party men to ensure surveillance at their respective villages so that no one could be involved in criminal and anti-social activities identifying themselves as BNP leaders.
