Cox’s Bazar: Home Adviser Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) has ordered the withdrawal of the Chakaria Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) in Cox’s Bazar within 24 hours.
He gave the order after a view-sharing meeting with officials of the Home and Agriculture Ministries at the Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner’s conference room yesterday.
Following allegation against the OC made by a local journalist, he gave the order to the Deputy Inspec-tor General (DIG) of Chittagong Range over phone.
The journalist informed the Home Adviser about torture of an individual under the custody of the Cha-karia Thana Police.
