A fire that broke out at a garment factory in Boalkhali upazila of Chattogram on Saturday afternoon has been extinguished.
Sources said the fire started around 4:50pm at a jacket manufacturing factory named Abalone Fashion Limited located in the Badamtala area.
Six firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the flames around 7:40pm, Fire Service and Civil Defence Assistant Director Md Abdul Malek said, adding that they tamed the blaze in the evening.
Workers evacuated the factory as soon as the fire erupted, he said.
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
