2 die in Naogaon road accident

Naogaon: Two people died, and another was injured after a motorcycle collided with a battery-run van in the Raninagar upazila of Naogaon yesterday.
The accident occurred in the Sonakania area on the Raninagar-Abadpukur road on Saturday after-noon, according to Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Tarikul Islam of Raninagar Police Station.
The deceased were identified as Jahid (19), son of Jamil from Bardgacha Sardarpara in the Parail Union of the upazila, and Emdadul Sheikh (20), son of Abdur Rashid from Lohachuhiya village. The injured passenger, Naeem (22), was a resident of Bardiya village.
According to the families of the deceased Jahid and Emdadul were friends.
Both had worked for a private company in Dhaka and had returned home two days prior. On Sat-urday afternoon, they went to Raninagar for personal work on a motorcycle. After completing their tasks, they were on their way home when they collided with the van in the Sonakania area of the Raninagar-Abadpukur road.
Jahid died at the spot. Upon hearing the news, Raninagar Fire Service personnel rescued Emdadul, who was in critical condition, and rushed him to the Raninagar Upazila Health Complex. As his condition worsened there, he was transferred to Naogaon Sadar Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries in the afternoon. Naeem, the injured passenger, was receiving treatment at the Rani-nagar Upazila Health Complex.
No complaints were filed with the police regarding the incident. After the legal process was com-pleted, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their families, the OC added.
