Foreign Adviser to visit China from January 20

Staff Reporter:
Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain will travel to Beijing on a bilateral visit from January 20 at the invitation of the Chinese government to discuss a range of bilateral issues.
“China has extended an invitation, and I will be going to address the issues we share,” he told re-porters at his ministry yesterday.
When asked about the specific topics to be discussed during his visit, Touhid refrained from providing further details but mentioned that an inter-ministerial meeting has already been sched-uled to finalize the agenda for the discussions in Beijing.
The foreign adviser described the visit as part of Dhaka’s ongoing efforts to maintain balanced rela-tions with China, alongside the United States and India.
Earlier, Touhid had emphasized Bangladesh’s commitment to strengthening both economic and security ties with China, while also deepening collaboration in critical areas such as clean energy and infrastructure development.
At a seminar on Friday, Touhid stressed the importance of establishing seamless connectivity be-tween Bangladesh and China through Myanmar, highlighting the mutual benefits of such an initi-ative.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Bangladesh and China.
