90% SC judges engaged in malpractices during AL Govt: Asif Nazrul

Staff Reporter:

Asif Nazrul, adviser to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, has said that 90 percent of the Supreme Court (SC) judges were engaged in committing malpractice during the tenure of the defeated Awami League government.

Additionally, they were attempting to commit a judicial coup in the country during the period, he made the allegation while addressing a programme at the Judicial Administration Training Institute in Dhaka on Saturday.

The government is working on formulating a time-befitting law to appoint honest, capable and skilled judges in the judiciary, he said.

“The country’s upper court also set examples of torturing people and denying them human rights in the past 15 years,” said the law adviser.
