Army detains 6 alleged extortionists

The members of Bangladesh Army in an overnight raid arrested alleged extortionist Alamgir and his five cohorts with sharp weapons in Mohammadpur Nabodoy Housing Society area in the capi-tal.
“Based on secret information, a unit under 46 Independent Infantry Brigade conducted the raid in the area last night and detained a listed extortionist Alamgir along with his five other accomplic-es,” said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) release yesterday evening.
The arrested were handed over to Mohammadpur Police Station and legal action is being taken against them, the ISPR release added.
