Four more deaths were reported from dengue in the 24 hours till Wednesday morning, raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 330 this year.
In the recent fatalities, two were reported in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) area, and one each in the Chattogram division and Khulna division (outside the city corporation areas).
During the period, 1,109 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the new dengue patients, 292 were admitted to hospitals under Dhaka North City Corporation while 95 others were hospitalised in Dhaka South City Corporation areas.
Some 4,232 patients are receiving treatment in different hospitals across the country.
A total of 68,247 dengue cases have been reported since 1 January 2024.
Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
The DGHS recorded 3,21,179 dengue cases and 3,18,749 recoveries last year.
