Gas cylinder blast of a bus kills 3 in Laxmipur

Lakshmipur: At least three people were killed and 20 others injured in a gas cylinder explosion of a bus when it was refueling CNG at a station in Muktiganj area of Laxmipur municipality early yesterday.
The deceased were Suman Hossain, 30, son of Botu Mia of Charmansar, M Yousuf Mia, 45 and Hridoy Hossain, 23, sons of Suja Mia of Banchanagar area under Sadar Upazila here.
The accident occurred around 2.00 am last night and all the dead were CNG-run auto-rickshaw drivers, who are waiting for receiving gas behind the bus, said filling station manager Al-Amin.
Ten critically injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Local people said a Meghna Paribahan passenger bus of Laxmiipur-Ramgati route entered in the Green Life Filling Station at 1.45 am last night and the cylinder of the bus suddenly exploded when it was fill-ing with gas.
As a result, three CNG-run auto-rickshaw drivers died on the spot and 20 others injured.
