The Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) has condemned and protested against the murder cases filed against professional journalists in a blanket manner.
In a statement on Friday, CRAB President Kamruzzaman Khan and General Secretary Sirajul Islam urged that the journalists must be relieved of charges immediately in such harassment cases.
These murder cases will curtail press freedom, the CRAB leader said, adding that more scrutiny should be done before lodging a case against a journalist.
To protect professionalism, the association will be forced to go for a movement if this evil trend continues, the statement added.
