Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hasan assumed the duties of principal staff officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division on Thursday.
The newly appointed principal staff officer was awarded the lieutenant general rank by Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan at the State Guest House Jamuna, in the presence of Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus, according to an ISPR media release.
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan was also present at the time.
Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hasan was commissioned in the Corps of Infantry in the Bangladesh Army on 22 December 1989.
He has held various important positions in the army, including Commandant of the Bangladesh Military Academy, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 66th Infantry Division, and Area Commander of Rangpur Area, among others, the release also said.
