No wrongdoers to get exemption once rule of law established: Rizvi

Staff Reporter:

No wrongdoers from the Sheikh Hasina-led government will be spared once law and order is restored in the country, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said on Saturday.

Many offenders have already fled the country, but they will not escape justice, Rizvi told reporters after offering prayers at the grave of Abu Sayeed, who was killed during the recent quota reform movement in Rangpur.

Abu Sayeed took part in the movement in a bid to uphold the country’s law and order, ensure people’s rights to speak independently and strengthen the country’s democracy, he said.

“Abu Sayeed’s departed soul will never rest in peace if we fail to fulfill his dream,” Rizvi told the journalists.

The BNP leader also sought eternal peace for those killed during the recent antigovernment movement.
