BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called upon his party’s rank and file to remain alert to resist the emergence of neo-fascism in the country.
“We have defeated a fascist government, but our fight is not over yet. We must remain vigilant to prevent the emergence of another neo-fascism in the country,” Fakhrul said on Friday.
While addressing a milad mahfil held at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office seeking immediate recovery of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia, Fakhrul said that the party chief would be sent abroad for advanced treatment to accelerate her immediate recovery.
Pointing to the dire consequences of Sheikh Hasina, he said, “We must continue the ongoing fight with patience, endurance and discipline, otherwise, we will incur a huge loss in the future.”
Claiming that there are many challenges in front of the interim government on the way of holding a peaceful election, he said, “The country is in a precarious state, and a disaster can take place any moment. Conspirator Sheikh Hasina may cash the opportunity if it arises.”
As part of her mission, Sheikh Hasina is now creating a smokescreen in the name of communal riot and attack on people of the Hindu community, he said, calling upon his party men to form a “Shanti Brigade” across the country to resist the conspiracy.
