The government on Monday removed former National Board of Revenue (NBR) Member Matiur Rah-man from his position as a director of the state-run Sonali Bank PLC.
Earlier on Sunday, he was removed from his NBR position after coming under scrutiny for controversies surrounding his wealth and sources of income.
The Financial Institutions Division (FID) of the Finance Ministry sent a letter to the Sonali Bank chair-man Ziaul Hasan Siddiqui recommending the removal of Matiur from his director post and asking for necessary steps to be taken.
