Water levels at 51 rivers monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while at 54 river points recorded fall.
Among the 110 monitored river stations, five have been registered steady and water levels at all river stations is flowing above the danger level, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here yesterday.
The Brahmaputra-Jamuna Rivers are in falling trend, which may continue in next 48 hours, the bulletin said adding the Ganges is in rising trend, on the other hand the Padma River is in steady state, which may continue in next 24 hours.
The water level of the Ganges river may remain steady in next 48 hours, it also added.
Water level of Surma-Kushiyara in the North-eastern region of the country are in steady state while oth-er main rivers in that region are in falling trend which may continue in next 24 hours, the FFWC bulle-tin forecasted.
Significant rainfall was recorded at some stations in different districts of Bangladesh during the last 24 hours ending at 9 am yesterday.
A total of 202 mm rainfalls were recorded at Sylhet, 82mm at Chattak (Sylhet), 72mm at Moheshkhola (Sunamganj), 56mm at Lalakhal (Sylhet), 52mm at Pateswari (Kurigram), 138mm at Sunamganj, 82mm Dkhinbagh (Sylhet), 69mm at Moulvibazar, 56mm at Kamalganj, 48mm at Sreemongal, 119mm at Ku-rigram, 76mm at Manu Rly Bridge (Moulvibazar), 60mm at Latu (Sylhet), 54mm at Dalia (Nilphamari) and 46mm at Habiganj.
During the past 24 hours, significant rainfalls (mm) were recorded at some states of India – West Bengal, Tripura and Mizoram the bulletin added.
