Cumilla: A 50-year-old Bangladeshi man was reportedly shot and killed by members of the Indian Bor-der Security Force (BSF) along the Burichang upazila border in Cumilla yesterday morning.
The victim, Mohammad Anwar Hossain, a resident of Mirpur village in Bakshimul union, was identified as the son of the late Charu Miah.
Local Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Karim said that Anwar was shot by the BSF at the Jamtala bor-der around 8:30 am. “His body remains near the barbed wire fence,” Karim said, noting that Anwar went to the border to “illegally bring sugar.”
