Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has urged his counterpart, BNP Secretary-General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, to either publish a list of 60 lakh imprisoned leaders and activists or issue a formal public apology to the nation.
BNP has blamed the government for sending its 20 thousand leaders and activists to jail and subsequently, the number surged to 60 lakh, Quader said this while addressing a press conference held at Awami League President Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi political office in Dhaka on Monday.
“Either publish a list of 60 lakh imprisoned leaders and activists or make a public apology to the nation for your (Fakhrul) blatant falsehood,” Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister said.
Blaming BNP for its indulgence in politics of falsehood, Quader said no one can expect healthy and positive politics from the party as its sole aim is to destroy the country’s independence and sovereignty.
