Cumilla (South): A Cumilla court has placed Amman Siddiqui and Din Islam on a two-day remand in connection with the ‘suicide’ case of Khairuj Sadaf Abantika, a law student of Jagannath Uni-versity.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Abu Bakar Siddique passed the order after a hearing this afternoon.
Amman, a classmate of Abantika, was granted a two-day remand instead of five days, while assis-tant proctor of the university Din Islam, has been remanded for one day instead of a two-day re-mand.
“The interrogation of the two accused will be held at the Kotwali police station,” officer-in-charge (OC) of Cumilla Kotwali police station, Mohammad Feroz Hossain said.
Abantika committed suicide by hanging herself with the ceiling at her residence located at Bagich-agaon in Cumilla on Friday night.
Before hanging herself around 10 pm on Friday, Abantika posted a note on Facebook and blamed the assistant proctor and the fellow student for abetting her suicide.
Abontika’s mother Tahmina Shabnam filed a case with Cumilla Kotwali Model Police Station against the duo.
