A total of 1.6 kg of gold items were recovered from a passenger at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport on Wednesday morning.
Sources said the passenger arrived on a flight from Fly Dubai, FZ 0563, and landed at the airport at around 9:48am.
On information, customs officials recovered the gold, weighing around 1,619 grams, kept tactfully inside a big lock and the battery of an electronic charger light in a bag from under the possession of the passenger, said Director Group Captain Taslim Ahmed of the airport.
Further legal proceedings in this connection were under process, he said.
Earlier, some 64 gold bars weighing 7.5 kg were recovered in an abandoned condition from a flight by Oman Air at the airport on 16 February.
