Two held with 940 sedative injections in city

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two drug traders and seized 940 Buprenorphine injections, which are used as sedative drugs, from capital’s Jatrabari area yesterday morning.
The arrested were identified as Md. Kabir,52, son of Abu Sayed from Sutikhalpar area of Jatrabari po-lice station and Farhad Hossain,36, son of Mozammel Hossain from Angrat village under Dhamoirhat police station of Naogaon District, Assistant superintend of police and Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-10 M.J. Sohel told yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-10 conducted a drive in North Jatrabari Sutirkhalpar area under Jatrabari police station of the city and arrested the drug traders with the injections around 9am yesterday, he said.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrested persons confessed that they are professional drug dealers and they had been supplying sedative Buprenorphine injection and other drugs in different areas of the country including capital’s Jatrabari area, RAB sources said.
A case was filed against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act and they were handed over to the concerned police station, the RAB official said.
