2 dead as bus collides with covered van in Cox’s Bazar

Two people died and four others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a covered van in Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.

The incident happened when a Dhaka-bound bus of Eagle Paribahan from Cox’s Bazar collided with the covered van coming from the opposite direction around 10 am on Thursday in the upazila’s Harbang area.

Chakaria Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Mohammad Ali confirmed the matter.

The injured were sent to the Upazila Health Complex for treatment. Among the injured, two are in critical condition. The identities of the dead and injured could not be ascertained. Efforts are on to identify them, said the OC.
