The newly elected leaders of the Bangladesh Outbound Tour Operators Association (BOTOA) have called for proper coordination between the government, private sector, and local community to create an enabling environment for sustainable and responsible global tourism.
The association’s president Iqbal Mahmud has come up with the call while placing 10 recommendations and introducing a new executive committee for 2023–2025 during a press conference at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity in the capital on Thursday.
BOTOA recommendations include infrastructural development, cultural publicity, marketing and branding, diversification of tourism offers, involvement of local communities, promoting environment-friendly tourism, the government’s assistance and policy support, training and capacity building, digital integration, and safety and security.
BOTOA Senior Vice President Md Iftekhar Alam Bhuiyan, Vice President Md Abul Kalam Azad, General Secretary Imrul Hossain Imon, and other members of the Board of Directors for the term 2023-2025 were present in the press briefing.
