Simeen pledges to work for women development

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Simeen Hussain (Rimi) yesterday pledged to work for women’s development and empowerment in the country.
“I will proceed with works through the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs as I have been working with women and children-related matters for long time. That’s why, this is a place, which I like the most. I have an action plan which is an ongoing work,” she said.
The state minister was talking to the journalists at the secretariat here on the first day of her work, a press release said.
Earlier, the newly-appointed state minister Simeen participated as the chief guest in a view-exchanging meeting with the senior officials of the ministry and the heads of the departments/organizations on the activities of the ministry in the meeting room of the Ministry with Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Nazma Mobarek in the chair.
Managing Director of Joyeeta Foundation Afroza Khan, Chairman of Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha Chemon Ara Tayeb, Director General of the Department of Women Affairs Kaya Khan, Additional Secretaries Md Muhibuzzaman, Rowshan Ara Begum and Muhammad Wahiduzzaman and Shishu Academy Direc-tor Deneral Anjir Liton were present at the meeting, among others.
Simeen also underscored the need for team work in developing children’s development and improving the condition against child harassment and bullying.
She also called for taking befitting steps and programmes to remove the mobile addiction of the chil-dren.
