2 suffer bullet wounds in Chattogram clash

Chattogram: Two people sustained bullet injuries in a clash between the supporters of Awami League and independent candidate in front of Pahartali Degree College in Chattogram port city on Sunday.
The injured were identified as Shanto Barua, 30 and Md Jamal, 32, supporters of independent candidate Manjur Alam Manju.
Witnesses said a chase and counter-chase took place beteween the supporters of Awami League-backed candidate Mohiuddin Bacchu and independent candidate Manjur Alam Manju in front of the Pahartoli Degree College polling station around 11 am, triggering a clash that left two people injured.
They were taken to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital.
At one stage, sounds of gunshots were heard during the clash.
Sheikh Neyamat Ullah, officer-in-charge of Khulshi Police Station, one sustained bullet injuries during the clash but.
Police and BGB members brought the situation under control.
