Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina has pledged to enhance and expand basic health, and fami-ly welfare services under the programs of Vision-2041 in continuation of Vision-2021.
“Primary health care and medicine distribution free of cost will be continued through community clin-ics,” she said while declaring the AL’s election manifesto ahead of the 12th national elections to be held on January 7.
To ensure digital healthcare, a unique health ID will be provided to every person in the country, and hospital automation management will be introduced, she said.
The AL President pledged to establish a Universal Health System to ensure equal health care for all citi-zens.
A super-specialized hospital of international standards has been set up in Dhaka, she said, adding: “Spe-cial grants have been allocated to health science research.”
Health Insurance will be introduced, and Centers for Non-communicable Disease Treatment and Rehabil-itation of Senior Citizens will be set up under the Healthy Aging Scheme, she said.
Sheikh Hasina said the country’s API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) industry will be encouraged.
“The use of antibiotics will be controlled,” she said adding that mental health and autism healthcare fa-cilities at all levels will be made more effective.
