Quader blasts BNP’s non-coopn program

A Correspondent:

Sylhet: Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quad-er yesterday came down heavily on BNP for announcing non-cooperation movement ahead of polls, pos-ing a question how the party would wage such a movement.
“What does the BNP say now? Will it wage a non-cooperation movement? Monkey sings music, rock floats in water. It is like that. Will they wage non-cooperation movement? It is as like as a carpet knight,” he said.
Quader made the remarks while speaking at a rally, organized jointly by Sylhet District and City units of AL, at Sylhet Government Alia Madrasa ground here this afternoon.
AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the public rally as the chief guest with Presi-dent of Sylhet City AL and valiant freedom fighter Masuk Uddin Ahmed in the chair.
“There are 1,896 people who are been participating in the elections. These 1,896 people will play in 300 seats across the country on January 7 next. There will be a strong game,” Quader said.
AL President Sheikh Hasina has not fled the country but she is participating in polls, he said, adding BNP is now out of the election field after getting a red card.
“They (BNP leaders) are not in the final game as they have fled away. They threatened that after the election, they will fall the government. So, all should remain alert,” the AL general secretary said.
He said the threat of the BNP will fall flat as it is a fake party. The BNP’s politics, blockade programme and arson terrorism – all are fake ones and that is why its anti-Bangladesh conspiracy must be resisted together, he added.
Issuing a fresh warning to the BNP leaders, asking them not to play with fire, Quader said: “If you play with fire, you will burn yourself to death. They are more brutal than Netanyahu and the Israeli forces. What happened in Tejgaon. A mother with her baby on her lap was burnt to ashes. BNP and its terrorists did it.”
