2-year-old boy drowns in Rajshahi pond

Rajshahi: A two-year-old boy drowned in a pond at Gagorond village of Chanduriya union at Tanore upazila of Rajshahi on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Arafat Hossain Shihab, son of Suman Mondal of the village.
Tanore Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdur Rahim confirmed the matter.
According to locals, Arafat fell into the pond around 11:00 am while playing near the house. After searching for him around the house, the villagers did not find him.
Later, locals rescued him from the pond and took him to Tanore Hospital, where a duty doctor declared him dead.
Permission has been given to bury the body, as no one from the family filed a complaint.
