30 people hurt in BNP-police clash in Habiganj

Habiganj: At least 30 people, icluding journalists and policemen, were injured in clashes between BNP men and police in Shaistanagar in the district yesterday.
Local people said Bangladesh Nationalist Party formed a human chain in Shaistanagar on the occassion of International Human Rights Day 2023 in morning. At the end of the programme, BNP activists hurled brickbats at police in the area. In retaliation, police fired teargas shells to desperse them.
Additional Police Super Hasibul Islam said a few police personnel were injured in the clashes erupted. “Tear shells and rubber bullets were fired to bring the situation under contol,” he added.
