BNP can achieve nothing by torching buses, blasting bombs: Hanif

A Correspondent:

Kushtia: Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif yesterday said that BNP leaders can’t achieve anything by setting buses and trains on fire and exploding bombs.
“The success of BNP’s politics lies in setting vehicles on fire to disrupt the elections. But they don’t know that exploding bombs at one or two places like this or torching buses will gain them nothing,” Hanif said while talking to the journalists at his residence here this morning, before attending a meeting organized by the Citizens Council.
“The countrymen condemned BNP for killing people and creating panic across the country with their arson activities during 2013-14… When they were in power, Bangladesh was identified as a corrupt and failed state by foreign countries, and so people rejected them,” Hanif said while replying to the news-men.
Stating that arson activities like these won’t be tolerated anymore, he said, “Nothing can foil the elec-tions. Polls will be held on time.”
District Awami League Senior Vice President Rabiul Islam, Joint General Secretary Sheikh Hassan Me-hedi, Organizing Secretary Amjad Hossain Raju, Youth and Sports Affairs Editor Khandkar Iqbal Mahmud and others were present, at this time.
