‘Arms trader’ held with revolver in Jashore

Jashore: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested a suspected arms trader along with a firearm from Hajibagh village of Jhikargachha upazila in Jashore on Wednesday night.
The arrestee is Zia Biswas, 45, son of Enatullah Biswas of Hajibagh village of the upazila.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-6 conducted a drive in the area on Wednesday midnight and arrested Zia along with a revolver, said Major Mohammad Saqib Hossain, company commander of RAB-6 CPC-3.
Later, he was handed over to Jhikargachha police station.
A case was filed against the detainee at the police station under the Arms Act, he added.
