Tangail: Miscreants set fire to a parked bus at Natiapara area of Dubail union on Dhaka-Tangail highway under Delduar upazila of the district on Monday night.
Office-in-Charge (OC) of Delduar Police Station Mostafizur Rahman said that the bus was parked on the side of the Natiapara highway. The helper of the bus Babul Miah was sleeping inside the bus.
At around 11:30pm, the helper, who was sleeping inside the bus, saw the fire and called the people near-by.
Being informed, a firefighting unit from Delduar Fire Service Station rushed to the spot and doused the blaze, Russell Mia, Station Officer of Delduar Fire Service said.
However, no casualties were reported in this incident as the helper managed to get out of the vehicle, he said.
Police are investigating the incident and legal action would be taken in this regard, the OC said.
