2 kids drowned in Bhandaria

Pirojpur: Two young boys drowned in a canal on Wednesday while taking bath at Border bridge canal of Telakhali union under Bhandaria Upazila in Pirojpur district.

The deceased were identified as Nur Muhammad, 11, son of Ismail Hawladar, a resident of Telakhali village under Bhandaria Upazila and Md. Hasibul, 10, son of Osman Gani of Dhaka’s North Badda.

Minara Begum, a relative of the deceased, said that they went to the border bridge canal to take bath around noon and drowned there.

Md. Ashikuzzaman, officer-in-charge of Bhandaria Police Station, said that police rushed to the spot after getting the information.

He said they were investigating the matter.
