BNP made people hostage of their evil politics: Hasan

Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud yesterday said BNP has made hostage common people to pursue their evil politics.
He told reporters at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery here after visiting the victims of arson attacks during the blockade programme of BNP-Jammat.
Dr Hasan visited the hospital at the instruction of Prime Minister and AL President Sheikh Hasina to inquire about the condition and treatment of the arson victims.
The minister said doctors of the institute under the supervision of its Chief Coordinator Dr Samanto Lal Sen is providing treatment to the victims and the government is bearing all costs of the treatment.
The government and the Awami League would provide all necessary assistance to the victims, he said.
“It is really indescribable how the victims are sufferings from their burn injuries. BNP has started arson attacks similar to 2013, 2014 and 2015,” he said.
The minister said all the victims are people of marginal group including drivers and helpers of trans-ports, rickshaw pullers and low incoming employees.
“What was the offence of those innocent people,” he asked saying “why they are victims of their evil politics.”
“It is a crime to make common people hostage to realize any political gain,” he said adding “I don’t know whether any such incidents of killing innocent people through arson attack was held anywhere in the world.”
AL Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, AL Health Affairs secretary Dr Rokeya Sultana and Chief Coordinator of the institute Dr Samanto Lal Sen, among others, were present.
