Country needs Hasina in power for more dev: Nanak

Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak yesterday said AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will have to be brought to state power again through the upcoming general elec-tion for the continuation of the country`s development.
“The country is moving forward under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he told a foundation stone laying function of Mohammadpur Krishi Market in the city.
Nanak said, “The next national election is a very important. So, we will remain alert against any kind of conspiracy. The country`s development and democracy are under threat as the BNP and Jamaat are hatching conspiracy against the present government.”
BNP-Jamaat killed a policeman and attacked Rajarbagh Police Lines Hospital as well as residence of the chief justice in the name of grand rally on October 28 in the city, he added.
Nanak said BNP`s acting chairman Tarique Rahman is inciting his party leaders and activists staying the abroad against the incumbent government.
He urged all to be united under the leadership of AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Dhaka north City corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam, Chief Executive officer Selim Reza and Regional Executive Officer Mutakabbir Ahmed, among others, were present in the event.
