The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has issued a directive to urgently reconstitute all the relevant committees at the Upazila and the metropolitan areas to ensure the smooth and transparent distribution of honorarium allowances to the Freedom Fighters (FF).
This directive was conveyed in a letter issued on November 1 by the Ministry’s Welfare Wing-2.
The concerned Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) have been instructed to take necessary action on a priority basis in this regard.
The letter stated that, in light of directives from the Prime Minister’s Office, it has become necessary to reconstitute the field-level committees under various branches of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.
It further noted that, in accordance with clause 6 of the ‘Freedom Fighters Honorarium Allowance Distribution Order, 2020’, there is a provision for the formation of Upazila-level and metropolitan-level committees to verify the applications from the Freedom Fighters or their beneficiaries for the receipt of honorarium allowances.
The Ministry has stated that these committees must be reconstituted urgently, in line with the aforementioned order and directives.
Consequently, the DCs and UNOs have been requested to take necessary steps.
