Concord has formally handed over PKSF Bhaban 2 to Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), completing a project that supports the organisation’s development activities. Md Abdul Karim, chief financial officer of Concord Group of Companies, and Md Hasan Khaled, deputy managing director of PKSF, attended the handover ceremony with other senior officials from both organisations, according to the press release.
Established by the government of Bangladesh in 1990, PKSF supports sustainable poverty reduction through employment generation. Its activities involve disadvantaged communities, entrepreneurs, and partner organisations nationwide.
The newly handed-over building gives PKSF space to continue its operations and pursue its development objectives.
Concord said the handover added to its portfolio of institutional and nationally significant projects in Bangladesh. Its early work included rebuilding war-damaged bridges and transport infrastructure after independence. Among its notable projects is the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar, which the company completed in 1982. Concord also constructed the original passenger terminal and the VVIP terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and carried out civil works for the airport’s third terminal. Its portfolio includes the National Indoor Stadium in Mirpur and several major institutional buildings in Dhaka. These include Bangladesh Shilpa Bank Bhaban, Jiban Bima Tower and Janata Bank Bhaban in Motijheel, which the company described as among the pioneering high-rise developments of their time. Concord said completing PKSF Bhaban 2 further expanded its record of delivering institutional buildings and projects of national significance.
