Akij Renewable Energy & Automobiles Ltd, a subsidiary of Akij Venture Group, and City Bank PLC have signed a memorandum of understanding to offer preferential financing for electric vehicles and special discounts to eligible customers. The agreement, signed on 27 September, 2026, aims to facilitate electric vehicle purchases and speed up loan processing, according to the press release. At a ceremony at the ARRA showroom in Tejgaon, Dhaka, KM Nafizul Hoq, head of assets in City Bank’s Retail Banking Division, handed over the agreement to Sayed Joynul Abedin, CEO of Akij Renewable Energy & Automobiles. Under the agreement, customers who purchase electric vehicles directly from the company will have access to preferential auto-financing facilities from City Bank. Akij Renewable Energy & Automobiles will also offer eligible City Bank customers and employees special discounts on brand-new vehicles across its outlets.
