Welcoming the delegation to Bangabhaban, the President said, “The people of Bangladesh will remember the contributions made by members of the British Parliament’s All-Party Parliamentary Group to restoring democracy in Bangladesh.”

Mentioning the UK as an important economic and development partner of Bangladesh and one of its largest export markets, he said, Dhaka attaches great importance to Bangladesh’s longstanding relations with the United Kingdom.

He praised UK’s longstanding democratic tradition and good governance and called for further strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the two countries through reciprocal visits, exchanges between parliamentary committees and training of officials.
