He made the call during a meeting with UN Resident Coordinator ad interim Carol Flore-Smereczniak at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here, said a ministry press release.
“Bangladesh highly values its longstanding partnership with the United Nations and remains committed to further reinforcing its cooperation in support of shared priorities and national development,” he said.
Kobir appreciated Flore-Smereczniak’s leadership of the UN Country Team in advancing Bangladesh’s development priorities.

The state minister stressed the need for stronger coordination among UN agencies and closer alignment of their programmes with Bangladesh’s reform and development framework.
On the Rohingya crisis, Kobir appreciated the UN’s humanitarian assistance and called for sustained ef-forts to ensure the early and sustainable return of the Rohingyas to their ancestral homes in Myanmar.
He emphasized that repatriation remained the only viable solution to the crisis.
