Thakurgaon: A young man was killed and five other people were injured in a head-on collision between a
battery-operated rickshaw and a motorcycle in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Ranjan Barman, 19.
The battery-operated rickshaw was heading towards Thakurgaon district town when it collided with a
motorcycle at Garyea around 11:30pm.
The impact threw several passengers from both vehicles onto the road, leaving them severely injured.
Locals rushed the injured to Thakurgaon 250-bed General Hospital, where attending doctors declared
Ranjan dead.
One of the injured was later transferred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
