Remittance inflow rises 15.1pc to $8.80b in FY27

Dhaka, Oct 4: Bangladesh so far received $8.798 billion in workers’ remittances during July 1 to October 3 of the current fiscal year 2026-27, marking a 15.1 percent increase from $7.643 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

According to the latest data, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $206 million in remittances during October 1-3, 2026, compared to $57 million during the corresponding period in 2025.

The strong growth in remittance inflows reflects an increase in the amount of money sent home by Bangladeshi migrant workers during the opening months of the current fiscal year.
