Sherpur: A man who suffered severe burn injuries along with his wife in a gas cylinder explosion at their home in Sreebordi upazila on September 25 died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Sourav Master alias Sabur, headmaster of Halgara Shishu Academy in the upazila.
He succumbed to his injuries at the DMCH around 9:00pm, said Md Roni Mia, a member of Kharia Kazirchar Union Parishad.
Sourav’s wife also suffered severe burn injuries in the incident and remains critically ill at the hospital.
Family members said the gas cylinder exploded inside their house while the couple were cooking in the afternoon of September 25.
They sustained severe burn injuries and were initially taken to Sherpur Sadar Hospital.
They were later transferred to the Dhaka hospital for specialized treatment.
