Shama stresses inclusive WPS action plan

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam yesterday called for an inclusive, realistic and measurable second five-year National Action Plan (NAP) to advance Bangladesh’s Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda.
“Advancing the Women, Peace and Security agenda is not only a global commitment but also a moral imperative and a shared responsibility,” she said.
Shama made the remarks as the chief guest at the inauguration of a two-day workshop titled “De-veloping Bangladesh’s New-Generation National Action Plan on WPS” at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre here.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UN Women Bangladesh are jointly convened the workshop.
