New 4 BNP leaders pay tribute to Zia, Khaleda

The four newly appointed members of the Standing Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) yesterday paid tribute at the graves of party founder and Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
They paid tribute at the graves of Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia situated at Zia Udyan in the capital. Later, prayers and a munajat were offered seeking eternal peace for their departed souls.
The newly appointed members of the National Standing Committee are Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, Aman Ullah Aman, Professor Dr Farhad Halim Donar and Md Ismail Jabiullah.
BNP leaders Habibur Rahman Habib and Mir Sarafat Ali Sufu, among others, were present.
On August 15, the four were appointed as new members of the BNP National Standing Committee.
Talking to journalists after paying tribute, the newly appointed national standing committee members said they would work under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to imple-ment the BNP’s election manifesto.
Standing Committee member Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, “The incumbent government will build the country keeping the BNP’s philosophy in mind.”
Aman Ullah Aman said, “With the efforts of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and the people, voting rights have been restored in the country. The country has been freed from fascism.
This is a government of the people that will provide services to the people by standing beside them.”
Professor Dr Farhad Halim Donar said, “Ziaur Rahman did in three years what he accomplished, and his worthy son, BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, is moving forward at an even faster pace.”
Md Ismail Jabiullah said, “The BNP is the possessor of a political tradition. This opportunity will be successfully fulfilled.”
